Lemur, the killer(ap)

Los forofos del audiovisual están de fiesta: LEMUR es un controlador modular que permite utilizar cualquier interfaz (botones, mesa, teclado, cuerdas, etc) para crear sonidos e imágenes en tiempo real desde un touchpad pequeño, sencillo y maravillosamente excitante, como pueden apreciar en la imágen que acompaña este post o visitando sus electrizantes videos. Su editor de software (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux) permite al afortunado vj construir sus propios interfaces cortando y pegando al gusto desde los pre-existentes. El editor cuenta con el software y el sistema de mapeado necesario para que todo el proceso sea tan simple como elegir a las más guapas de cada club y montar una fiesta privada en tu propia habitación. Eso sí: aunque teóricamente la pantalla puede leer un número casi infinito de dedos trabajando a la vez, sus creadores no recomiendan más de 10. El sistema -dice el técnico- no ha sido testado por usuarios con más de cinco dedos en cada mano y puede resultar extremadamente sensible a los trios pasionales. Ya lo saben; el amor se comparte, el Lemur no. Al menos no en la misma cama.

Franz Hildgen and Ben Bogart will offer two workshops consisting of a demonstration and explanation of the pixelTANGO digital video mixer, with vjs JoCool and LeCouple. They will demonstrate content creation with the video mixer and experiment creation of visuals with the artists participating in the workshop. The software tool will be available for the artists to experiment with.

lightTWIST

Sebastien Roy will offer two workshops and demonstrations featuring the lightTWIST application and projection techniques on arbitrary surfaces. This workshop will explore the creation of visual content intended for nonplane surfaces with artists from Barcelona.

Zack Settel will offer a workshop featuring a broadband network demonstration and an explanation of the audio multichannel streaming application nSLAM, featuring a music demo between Barcelona and Montreal. Artist in Montreal : Felix Richer (Nuclear Ramjet)

These workshops will also explain the audio multichannel and spacialization production process (Alain Thibault, Physical Noise Theatre, Champion), with the audio artists participating in the
workshops.
